On June 12th at 7 pm in Sfumato Theatre Laboratory within World Theatre in Sofia the fans of contemporary dance can see the performance “Abstand” by the Belgian dance company MARRAFA vzw.
“People like to keep certain distances between themselves and other people or things. And this invisible bubble of space that constitutes each person’s “territory” is one of the key dimensions of modern society”, writes the cultural researcher Edward Hall. ”Abstand” by Luis Marrafa and António Cabrita is a compelling contemporary dance piece about each person’s “territory” that constitutes the distance between people. What is the right distance between human beings or the correct measure separating two individuals? It can be millimeters, meters or even forever. It is manifested in a physical and emotional way. In the case of “Abstand” there is a distance between two men. Crossing their border will appear reactions, understandings and emotions. It is a paradoxical relationship where the body language is constantly shifting.
