Derida Dance Center is creating a multinational braid of choreographers - this week you will have the opportunity to meet with artists from Italy, France, Australia, Germany and Ireland.

The former “Riverdance” soloist Breandan de Gallai is in Bulgaria together with the dancers from Eriu Dance Company to present "Lînger" (on 20.05 in Teatrò), a performance studying the essence of man and combining in itself both classical and contemporary Irish dance.
During his stay in Sofia, Breandan will lead a workshop with artists from Derida Dance Center(on 15.05, at 11:00). On Friday at 20:00 in DDC all Irish dance enthusiasts can learn firsthand about the relationship between contemporary and Irish dance during a lecture on the topic.

Kevin Jean is a French choreographer and performer. He has worked with some of the distinguished performers of the French postmodern and new dance as Stephanie Aubin, Odile Duboc, Myriam Gourfink, with the film maker Philippe Grandrieux and others. In the framework of the Antistatic Festival for Contemporary Dance and Performance, Kevin also presents the dance workshop "“Des Autres Paradis”.s" for non-professional dancers. The classes are held in Derida Dance Center on Monday, May 15, and Friday, at 19.05, from 12.00 to 17.00.

Tobiah Booth-Remmers is one of the choreographers selected among 111 candidates, to be a part of Derida Dance Center’s Residency Program. In the course of the program, he develops the interactive performance "Lār" together with performer Lucia Moretti. As part of the audience, you are invited to become a direct participant in the ritual ceremony, becoming more than just a witness of this universal process. The presentation of the work in progress version of the project will be performed on 19.05 at 18.30 on Stage Derida.

Florian Bucking and Raisa Kroeger are choreographers and dancers from Germany. After about ten years of dynamic activity on Berlin's dance scene and beyond, in 2014 they founded bücking & kröger, transferring their diverse experiences into collective choreography.They are guests here as artists invited through the Aerowaves Dance Across Europe Platform They will present a workshop within the Dance PORT Derida program for contemporary dance education and training, and will perform “NARRAGONIEN” within the frame of the Antistatic International Festival for Contemporary Dance & Performance. The performance will take place at "The Red House - Center for Culture and Debate "on May 19th Friday | 20:00 h.
All these projects are realized throughg Derida Dance Center’s partnerships with America for Bulgaria Foundation, Sofia Municipality and the Calendar of cultural events for 2017, the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Bulgaria, Aerowaves- Dance Across Europe Platform, Creative Europe Program "Of the EU, Antistatic International Festival for Contemporary Dance and Performance, as well as the Embassy of Ireland in Bulgaria.
