Today we start the first foreign residency of Derida Dance Center Residency Program 2016. Marta Ladjanszki and Zsolt Varga will be our guests till April 16th. In the course of two weeks they will work in two directions. The Hungarian artists will put the final touches to their author project LetMeC which they will show on April 9th (7 pm) in Derida Dance Center. They will also interact with young Bulgarian dancers from Dance PORT Derida program within the frame of a workshop.
Together with their work in Derida Dance Center Marta and Zsolt will present an exhibition of the photographer Roland Szabo in Etud Gallery in Sofia – this is a series of portraits of members and residents of L1 Association – the biggest organization in Hungary uniting independent artists in the field of contemporary dance and performance.
Marta Ladjanszki is an artistic director of L1 Association since 2001. She has over 20 years of experience as a dance performer and choreographer. The process of her creative development is related to classical ballet, modern dance, jazz and in the end – contemporary dance where she has been an award-holder many times. Zsolt Varga is a composer and multi-instrumentalist from Budapest. He is a member and chairman of L1 Association since 2011. Together with Marta he works for a long time as a member of the artistic team in many performances.
The residency program of Derida Dance Center is financed by "Culture" program of Sofia Municipality.
