This September Derida Dance Center Residency Program hosts artists from Germany, Austria and Italy


Three foreign artistic teams will work on their author projects in the field of contemporary dance as part of Derida Dance Center Residency Program in the month of September.

Laura W 1

Laura Witzleben and Niko van Harlekin from Germany will be our guests in the period August 22nd – September 10th. They will work with Bulgarian dancers from Dance PORT Derida program on Laura’s author project “When Grass Turns Blue”. She is an experienced contemporary dancer from Berlin. She has participated in dance companies in Stuttgart, Rome, Rotterdam and Vilnuis. Niko van Harlekin is a colleague of Laura and will assist her in the creation.

Tudisco 1

In the middle of the month we will host the Italian choreographer and artistic director of Interno 5 dance company - Antonello Tudisco and his colleague Gaetano Montecasino. They will also intensely work with Bulgarian dancers and will present their piece TO BE OR BODY in the frames of Bodygraphics Festival.

Andrea Hackl                   

Also in September, Derida Dance Center will provide a residency for Andrea Hackl – choreographer, dancer and video artist, based in Austria and the Netherlands. Her work cherishes the power and poetry of dance through its physicality. Andrea will also participate in Bodygraphics Festival by giving two master classes. She will show the result of her author work - the performance WILD HORSE RUN - within the festival program and also in Derida Dance Center at the end of the month.
