"Platform 9 3/4" is a project related to the distribution of independent theater productions in the field of experimental theater and its borderline forms, the result of the interaction between different arts. These include drama, puppetry, dance theater, musicals, performative stage forms, circus, visual theater installations, and more. An invitation to submit projects for ready-made performances will be open for two weeks (May 9-21). 10 performances of teams will be selected to be presented on DERIDA Stage during the year. From the 10 projects, two will be selected, which will remain in the monthly program on the stage.
It is aimed at independent teams, both young and established. The main goal is to create a platform at DERIDA Stage, which will present the artists in partnership conditions, through which to support and encourage their career development. The project stems from the lack of free stages for realization.
The selected ten teams will receive a fee/purchase of the performance within BGN 400, a stage space for the rehearsal-adaptation process, as well as technical and artistic support from the team of DERIDA Stage.
The rehearsal-adaptation period will take place within the months of May - December. Meetings of the audience with the teams are planned after the performances, where the spectators will be able to ask questions, as well as give feedback about the performances.
